• How much does it cost to get a charger installed?

The average cost is between $1000 to $2000 for the average home. This could vary depending on the length of cable/conduit, and other installation costs.

• Which company should I have to install my charger?

Alberta Tesla is PARTNERED with Zeno, Kuby and Evalence.

• How much to replace a windshield?

Windshields for Model 3 - oem s are around $1100 and Aftermarket from $500 to $750. Model S, Model Y, Model X vary from $1500 to $2500. We are PARTNERED with GlassMasters and CanAlta.

• What insurance company should I use?

Alberta Tesla is with All State. Go with which ever insurance company gives you the best deal. It’s all based on age, sex, and driving history. Can’t really compare yours to someone else. 

• How do the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) models handle Alberta winters with winter tires?

Our Rear Wheel Drive are great in the winter. We recommend going with All Winter tires. 

• Why does it not work when I plug my car into a generator?

We Believe that this question is not true, and charging can happen with a generator

• Can I plug it into a regular dryer outlet or is there a special type of EV?

• Is PPF worth it? 

If you have the money: yes. It protects the car being that the paint isn’t the greatest quality. Don’t need to do the full car but maybe the full front (thanks Alberta rock street suppliers) and A pillars, as well as lower strip along doors.

• How do I apply ceramic coating myself?

Short answer, Yes. We recommend going to a professional installer

• What floor mats are the best?

We promote Tux Mats if you are looking for side protection. Tesla.com mats are great all weather mats that look oem.

• Where to get those awesome wheel covers without breaking the bank?

Aero Discs are great if you want that real aero look with function. Tesloid, Evaca, Evannex, T-Sportline, etc. Check our facebook page for more info.

• How much does PPF cost?

Partial can range from $1000 to $1500. Full PPF can range from $2000 to $5000. These answers to give a very vague idea as the price can vary depending on the shop, condition of the vehicle, and other factors.

• How much battery degradation to expect in winter?

Battery does Not degrade during this time. The car just requires more juice in the winter. Pre-heating, Pre-condition, outside temperature, heat while driving, phantom draining are just some of the factors that we deal with in the winter.

• What does the blue dot under the car icon mean?

• Is there 3rd Party Acceleration boost available?

Tesla does offer an oem over the air Acceleration Boost (for most Non Performance Models). There are a couple of websites (Ingenext and Steinbauer) that offer aftermarket boost modules. 

• What are the best websites for body kits, lip kits and spoilers?

Tesloid, Meier, Adro, Vortsteiner, RPM Tesla, Maxton Design, Amazon, Evanexx are some of Websites that offer lip kits for our Tesla s. Refer to our Facebook page for additional information.

• What is the ideal tire pressure do I need? 

Between 40-45 psi. Refer to your door jamb for tire information. Also, all manuals are located on our Alberta Tesla website.

• Where do I go to repair a crack in my windshield?

We are PARTNERED with Very long Crack, GlassMasters and CanAlta. Deco offers unlimited chip repair packages.

• Why dont I get EPA range?

Because EPA is based on the best possible conditions for the car (wind, temp, weight). Good luck ever getting that.

• Is Full Self Driving (FSD) worth it?

If you have the funds to do so, it’s up to you. Everyone has their own thoughts on usefulness. It does still have a long way to go and is a bit of a novelty right now. Better cost is Enhanced Auto Pilot so you can get better auto steer on the highway.

• Do EV s work in the winter?

Better than an ICE. The AWD EVs are the best.

• What is a heat pump?

• Can the grid handle EV s?

For right now there is no issue. However the more EVs that are used the more there will be a demand for power so the Govt will need to do something soon.

• How long do batteries last?

Unless you are having issues due to u foreseen circumstances, batteries will last beyond their 8 year warranty. Though you will notice degradation in that your full charge won’t get you as far as it did new, but not enough it should really matter overall.

• What is the cost to replace batteries?

There is a local Model S owner that was quoted $20,300 (which included the new battery and installation).

• What shops can I take my Tesla too?

You can take your Tesla to any local shop. We highly recommend Modern Autobody, Contemporary Coachworks and My Garage. 

• Is my Tire, windshield, and paint covered by warrenty?

Tesla will NOT cover most "wear and tear" part. This is in most cases, but consult with a Tesla Service Agent or Submit your service request on your Tesla app.

• What washer fluid can I use?

Best is an all season -45 rated washer fluid. Same as any other vehicle.

• What can I use to clean the vegan leather seats?

Soap and warm water is all you should need. Or you can try ArmourAll wipes but make sure you test in a small spot first to ensure it doesn’t damage anything. Stay away from harsh chemicals. We recommend using Baby Wipes and getting your seats Ceramic Coated.

• Where has the summon feature gone?

This is an answer that only Elon can reply too.

• How do I maintain my PPF and ceramic coating?

Simply going to any wand wash. We don t recommend Any drive type of Auto wash.
